Product Description
A & J manual hand egg or food mixer beater sits atop a 6 sided heavy glass mixing bowl
The bowl has measuring units raised in the glass on three sides
Side One: 1-1/2 Pints, 1 pint, 1/2 pint and 1/4 pint increments
Side Two: 3 Cups, 2 cups, 1 cup, and 1/2 cup
Side Three: 24 oz, 16 oz, 8 oz, and 4 oz.
On the bottom of the heavy glass bowl is a rather large circle that sits off center and has some scratches to the left side. Seems to be some flaw in the manufacturing process. Top center of the bottom is a 7 (plant code of Alton, Illinois) then the Owens Illinois diamond and oval logo. To the right of this is a 0 which according to my research denotes the years code of the 1930s. Under this is the number 4 which is the mold number.
The metal beater sits atop the bowl. The gear works as should enabling the beater to rotate or spin and mix whatever food may be in the bowl. The A & J logo is embedded on one side of the gear, opposite the handle. If there is anything else embedded in the metal it is unreadable. It has a wood handle that at one time was painted a nice green but is now chipping and wearing away adding to the mixer's vintage charm.
