Product Description

Herbert Hoover replica pinback or stick presidential campaign button
Pin measures 1-3/8 inches round

In the 1970s American Oil Company put out a series of 38 campaign buttons, given away as premiums at their gas station. This is the reproduction of the Presidential Campaign of 1928.

When Republican President Coolidge chose not to run, the nomination went to Secretary of Commerce Herbert Hoover. His Democratic rival was the "Happy Warrior" and devout Catholic Alfred. E. Smith. Hoover ran an anti-catholic campaign and won by a landslide.

The back tells where you can send $8.95 to purchase the entire set plus a handsome wooden collector's wall piece and a booklet reporting each campaign. I doubt you could still make that purchase.
Bottom right corner tells this button's number 17 -18

This political / automotive memorabilia would make a nice addition to any collection
